In Person at Client's Home

• At Pilgrimway Lives, we pride ourselves in having the most compassionate, caring, professional and competent certified nurse assistants to provide the best homecare they can get. Our CNA's are the gateway between medical and non-medical services. They are able to assist with all the activity of daily living as well as provide a level of medical care such as woundcare dressing assistance, urinary catheter bag maintenance, medication administration and much more. Our services provide much needed care to patients at their homes or place of work while giving them peace of mind of a job well done.

Our CNA's provides basic, direct patient care, taking into account specific needs as related to patient s age. under the direction and guidance of a Registered Nurse.

Primary duties include but are not limited to

• Critical monitoring, like measuring blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration – so we can better assess their health
• Participates in assessment of patient needs and communication with the health care team
• Assisting with ADLs (activities of daily living), which include bathing, brushing teeth, toileting, elimination, feeding, and more
• Maintaining a clean and safe home environment.
• Participates in staff, patient and/or family education to a degree consistent with personal knowledge base.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities.
• Promote comfort, and express compassion and empathy
• Transport them to appointments and meals

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Minimum education; high school diploma or GED or BEPC or GCE O-Level
• Previous Nursing Assistant experience and/or successful completion of two Registered Nurse accredited clinical courses and/or completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, can be obtained once hired
• CNA license is not required but is welcome
• Some healthcare experience is preferred but not required
• Fluent (Ability to read, write and speak) in English and/or French (Bilingual or multilingual individuals are encouraged to apply)
• Effective communication skills and basic math skills.
• Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
• Understanding of basic medical terminology
• Must be able to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Demonstrated patient care experience, preferably in an acute care setting
• Tuberculous Test (PPD) within the last 12 months or to be obtained once hired

Applicant must meet or exceed minimum qualifications for each of the following background checks:

• Criminal Background Investigation
• Motor Vehicle Driving Record
• Professional and Personal Reference Checks

Must accept responsibility for learning and adhering to PilgrimWay Lives policies and procedures, be able to function in the home setting with minimal direct supervision when applicable, and maintain satisfactory relationships with administrative staff, clients, and family members.

Base pay: Depends on care provided, level of skill and overall experience
